I don’t know about you but my insides are cooking with all this heat. It has been a hot couple of weeks on the East Coast! I’m not complaining though, especially since in Nova Scotia we have summer for maybe 8 beautiful weeks of the year.
But for those 8 weeks, I’m going to enjoy many nights of camping, afternoons at the beach and mornings filled with breakfast on the patio. Summer is short so I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.
This summer, I’m going to let you in on a secret to help beat the heat! It’s my Secret Sangria recipe that is bound to get the boost your summer party.
Jessica’s Secret Sangria
Ingredients
1 bottle of red wine
2 Oranges
2 Lemons
2 Limes
1L Pineapple juice
500 ml Coconut rum
Sugar to tast (if necessary)
Instructions
1. Cut up your fruit and place it in the pitcher
2. Add liquids and stir
3. Add a few spoonfuls of sugar if necessary
4. Place in the fridge for several hours or until you can’t wait any longer (and if that’s only 5 minutes, add lots of ice to speed up the cooling process)
That’s it! And if you don’t want to drink it alone, bring it over to my place and we’ll enjoy it together on the patio.
