I don’t remember the last time I created for fun. I have been head down in the hustle for a long time and I forgot all about it.
Last July, I decided to take on an exciting project with a local magazine. I was allowed to shine my passions on digital media and women’s health through their social media platforms and website. When I took on that amazing project, I began to tackle some big dreams I didn’t even know I had in me.
I love working for the magazine and in all the digital opportunities I’ve been blessed with but when listening to a podcast today, I was reminded that when we put our the pressure of income on our passions, we start to lose creativity. We’re faced with “writer’s block” because there is so much pressure riding on every word.
I’m FEELING the pressure and it’s totally a personal pressure. I’m given creative freedom in all of my roles but for some reason, I’ve been hitting some walls lately. How can I be better? How can I create more? When will my next magic piece happen?
I love creating in a variety of ways. I love writing, video creation, web design, social media content, etc. but my anxiety is riding high with some standards I’ve placed of myself.
Well, here I am today creating from my heart. I started writing this piece with the idea of ‘5 ways to overcome anxiety naturally’ but this came out of my heart instead. Funny enough, my writing outlet is one of the ways I overcome anxiety but let’s carry on.
I wanted to share with you a few tips to unplug and find your creativity when the pressure is on:
Creating for all of you brings me life. I don’t create content on this blog to make money or become famous, I create it because I love sharing with you! It’s been a long run with the wrong mindset and I’m ready to come back strong and share with you the work I’ve been blessed to be paid for and the work that I create to light my soul on fire. Thank you for sticking with me through this crazy, transformational year – maybe that will be my next story to share!
