In the middle of February I noticed I was putting on some weight. I started a less active job, I wasn’t pushing myself in my workouts and I was cheating way to often on my diet. I knew I had to face the facts and make a change. I started my half marathon training and I wanted to be at a smaller start weight for speed. I needed to make a change from my bad eating habits and do something to kick start my healthy eating. I decided to give Beachbody’s 3 Day Refresh program a shot.
This program is a 3 day cleanse to help rid your toxins and feel refreshed. It’s a way to have a clean slate, drop a few pounds and break some bad habits.Since it’s only 3 days long, I figured I could suck it up for a few days.
The 3-day refresh consists of three daily shakes, a fiber drink, plenty of filtered water, plus a wide array of fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy fats throughout the day to keep your energy and metabolism going strong.
Well, I did it! And you know what, I feel great! The three days were challenging but it helped me to see that food doesn’t control me. I can push through my cravings!
A typical day of food looked like this:
Wake: 10 oz of filtered water
Breakfast (w/in 1 hour of wake): Vanilla Shakeology with strawberries
Mid-Morning Snack (10): Fiber Sweep
Lunch (hour after snack): veggies (cucumbers) + 1 fruit (half a pear) + healthy fat (2 tbsp hummus) + Vanilla Refresh Shake
