September 8, 2014
This special date marks the 1 year anniversary of the day Glen proposed. I can still remember it perfectly. I knew it was coming, I just didn’t know when so I was really stressed. Glen, being the romantic guy he is, waited until the very last minute of our vacation to pop the question. I didn’t make it easy for him, that’s for sure, but it all worked out and without a doubt, I said YES!
He proposed a week before we were moving out of our psycho summer apartment and into our quaint downtown home. We honestly believed 2014 would be the perfect year, planning a wedding while being together. Life could not be any better.
We always knew that someday the road wouldn’t be easy and we were always “prepared” if the path got rough. Unfortunately, shortly after we moved Glen got news of a big project at work in Newfoundland. I would have never guessed he would be on a plane a few months later and off to start his new job.
For the year we believed would be a wonderful rainbow path, turned into an incredibly lonely and difficult time. It is hard to plan a wedding when you are in different provinces and time-zones. On the week that Glen was home, the main focus was being together, not whether we wanted roses or pienes, chocolate or vanilla cake, and Nova Scotia or New Brunswick for our wedding.
It’s been almost a year that Glen has been on this project, and although it hasn’t been easy, a lot of great things have come out of it. Here are some examples:
We..
This year has been an exhausting and wonderful experience, which made celebrating our engagement anniversary even more special. It really didn’t matter what we did, we were together and enjoying it.
